Glenn Beck’s rally “Restoring Honor” drew hundreds of thousands to the Lincoln Memorial on the same date 47 years after the March on Washington. Beck may claim that he and his followers need to “reclaim the civil rights movement,” but he is certainly in no position to do so.

Beck spent the bulk of his speech blasting progressivism in all its forms, repeatedly equating it with communism and socialism. He provided some sensational sound bites — angry mobs love latching on to simplistic anthems to give their rally the illusion of purpose.
