Students can enter a drawing to win tickets to the Oct. 13 presidential debate from today until 5 p.m. on Oct. 5.
As host of the final presidential debate, ASU will be allocated a small number of tickets for students by the Commission on Presidential Debates.
"We don't know how many we have," said Nancy Neff, ASU spokeswoman. "We want to have the lottery set so when we do know, we'll be set."
To enter the lottery, students can go online to http://www.asu.edu/debate/tickets/students/html. There, they can fill out a request form with their name, e-mail address and daytime phone number.
The lottery will take place Oct. 6. Students picked will receive tickets, and student alternates will be chosen.
"I'd love to see that," said business senior Caroline Kelly, referring to the debate. "You don't get that chance every day."
Students selected will receive an e-mail, which they have 48 hours to respond to.
Students chosen to receive tickets must agree to a government background check.
"I guess that system works OK," said justice studies senior William Dyjack. "I just hope that since the University is hosting the event, they will be given a substantial amount of tickets."
Students who do not receive tickets are encouraged by the University to watch the debate at the Wells Fargo Arena, where Associated Students of ASU and ASU will host a viewing of the debate.
Tickets for the Wells Fargo Arena viewing are available for students and the public at http://www.asu.edu/debate/. They are free.
The debate will be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 13. Doors at the Wells Fargo Arena will open at 3 p.m.
