Police Beat: Slap on left buttock

ASU police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

An unknown male allegedly committed assault when he "struck [an 18-year-old female ASU student] on her left buttock with his right hand has he rode by on a motorcycle" on the 1500 block of South McAllister Avenue Tuesday night. The victim and a female friend were reportedly walking south on McAllister Avenue and heard a motorcycle behind them. The victim "began to turn around and felt a sharp slap on her left buttock." The women reportedly followed the motorcycle, but neither they nor police found a person matching the suspect's description.

Five car stereos worth a total of $960 and other items were reported stolen from vehicles parked in Lot 59 North Tuesday. In two cases, suspects may have entered the vehicles by damaging a window. In two others, damage was noticed under the passenger-side door handle, and in one case the victim "said she was in a hurry for class and may not have pushed the remote button to lock the doors."
