The ASU men's golf team hit a snag in Hawaii on Friday.
The seventh-ranked Sun Devils finished the three-round 2006 UH Hilo Intercollegiate in eighth place out of 21 teams with a 14-over 886.
ASU also finished in eighth at the tournament last year.
No. 3 Georgia Tech carded a 27-under 825 to win the event. The Yellow Jackets also took home individual honors as Cameron Tringale shot 11-under 202 to take the title.
ASU senior Alejandro Canizares and junior Niklas Lemke tied for 23rd place at even-par 213 to lead the Sun Devils.
Freshman Benjamin Alvarado finished tied for 29th at one-over 214. Seniors Charly Simon and Lenny Park rounded out ASU's lineup with scores of 13-over 226 and 17-over 230, respectively.
The Sun Devils will have the next two weeks off before traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico to compete in the Puerto Rico Classic.
Last year Canizares took the individual title, carding a 12-under 204.
