Walking on Mill Avenue almost guarantees the chance of catching some sort of display of talent, but every last Friday of the month at 8 p.m., passers-by can hear an especially artistic one at the poetry slam outside the Mill's End Cafe. Poetry slams are spoken-word competitions where poets read their works to an audience that judges them. The Mill's End slam is one of the busiest slams in the Valley, and it's free, so it's a great place to stop on your Mill Avenue stroll. Plus, the cafe has amazing chai tea.
