In fall of 2006 Bill Clinton spoke to students in support of Jim Pederson. The former president will be speaking at Gammage Thursday afternoon in support of his wife and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.

7:07 p.m. -- Former President Bill Clinton will be at the ASU campus Thursday to campaign for his wife, presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Bill Clinton will be giving a speech at Gammage Auditorium at 8:30 p.m., Arizona campaign spokeswoman Dana Kennedy said.

Doors will open for the free event at 7:30 p.m., but attendees should get there early, because the auditorium seats 3,000 and there is no guaranteed seating, Kennedy said.

Some of the details are still up in the air, and "a lot depends on the secret service, to be quite honest," Kennedy said.

Bill Clinton will be arriving in the Valley earlier in the day, and will be holding a fundraiser at former U.S. senatorial candidate Jim Pederson's home, Kennedy said.

One of Hillary Clinton's rivals in the Democratic primary, Sen. Barack Obama, is making his second trip of the campaign to the Valley Wednesday and will be holding a rally at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.

The "Stand for Change" rally is free and open to the public.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m., and no one will be allowed in after 5:30 p.m. It is still unclear what time exactly Obama will speak, Arizona campaign spokesman Sean Smith said.

The coliseum is located at 1826 W. McDowell Rd. in Phoenix, near 18th Avenue.

The last time Obama visited the Valley was in October. The rally on Hayden Lawn at ASU's Tempe campus drew 7,000 people, many of them ASU students.

"We're encouraging students to come," Smith said. "We feel like we have a lot of momentum nationally and here in Arizona, and we feel like this is a great opportunity to capitalize on that momentum."
