Keeping up with the Bercovicis? Attention turns to ASU quarterback, Kim Kardashian after upset

Did ASU quarterback Mike Bercovici get a call from Kim Kardashian after Saturday's win?

It's no secret that ASU redshirt senior quarterback Mike Bercovici loves playing in Southern California.

"There's just something about Southern California for Sun Devil players," Bercovici said. "You just feel comfortable playing out there."

He's 2-0 as a starter in the region, with both wins being undoubtedly the biggest of his college career.

First came the "Jael-Mary" and "Bercoing" against USC last season.

Saturday it was the "Ballage Moonwalk" where Bercovici guided the lone back along for a 23-yard touchdown.

Monday afternoon rumors abounded regarding whether or not Bercovici received a congratulatory phone call from a fellow Calabasas, California native — Kim Kardashian.

It started with FOX announcer Gus Johnson, who was on the call for Saturday's landmark win over No. 7 UCLA.

"He'll probably get a call from Kim Kardashian," Johnson said of Bercovici.

What Johnson may not have known, however, was that Bercovici and Kardashian actually do know each other — Bercovici's father, Ben, runs a video production company that has done work for the Kardashian family and their abundance of reality TV shows mostly based out of Calabasas.

"My dad runs a video production company," Bercovici said. "I'm not sure what it was, but they live just up the street and I couldn't tell you exactly what they did but my dad's met Kim before."

However, Bercovici squashed the rumors that he received a congratulatory phone call from the reality TV star and wife of rapper Kanye West.

"Hopefully my girlfriend is not listening because I don't want to get in trouble for this," Bercovici said. "I didn't get a call from Kim Kardashian, but my dad's done a video shoot at her house so I guess my dad's in with the Kardashian family."

That didn't stop his roommates and teammates from poking a little fun.

Bercovici, of course, would not be the only Sun Devil connection to the Kardashian family — former ASU men's basketball star and current Houston Rockets guard James Harden is reportedly dating Kim's sister, Khloe.
