Community organizer leads a workshop on street dance activism

Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University and the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy invite organizer and activist Shamell Bell for a lecture and dance workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in downtown Phoenix. Her lecture and workshop entailed street dance and its role in activism and protests, particularly the Black Lives Matter movement.

Volunteers seed and pot milkweed on Sept. 16, 2017, for a project with the Desert Botanical Garden as one of Changemaker Central's days of service. ASU students volunteered their Saturday to work on projects for nonprofits across the valley. The project was one of many sites students had to choose from to make their impact on the community. The university-wide day of service was coordinated by Changemaker Central.

ASU alumna co-facilitates white-privilege discussions

Arizona State University alumna Allyson Yoder co-facilitated a white-privilege discussion series on Thursday Sept. 14, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. The First Congregational United Church of Christ hosted part one out of six discussions around white-privilege.
