Twenty-five female inmates recently took part in the 10th annual Journey Home performance by reading poetry, using expressive movement and by presenting visual arts to a small audience at Estrella Women’s Jail. The Journey Home program, presented by ASU Gammage and Life Paradigms, Inc., seeks to help empower and rehabilitate female inmates by raising their self-esteem and by teaching them how to express themselves artistically.

The event, which lasts ten days, is considered to be one of the largest equine gatherings in the world with more than 2,000 competing horses.
