Boo to the plea bargain offered to Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair. Sinclair faced numerous charges, including sexual assault and making death threats to a woman and her family, but will instead plead guilty to mistreating the woman and causing her emotional distress. The plea bargain marks the end of a case that could have been a landmark decision for sex crimes in the U.S. military.

ASU President Michael Crow released his proposal for tuition and fees on March 14. To our collective surprise, his proposal included the botched athletic fee passed by USG last year.

Last week, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed SB 1062, or the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. While ultimately a good move for Arizona, we were collectively embarrassed to be citizens of this state — a state where, because of our wacky Legislature, people nationally think every Arizonan will discriminate against his or her neighbors.

With this week ending in Valentine's Day, we'd like to express our love for Packard Stadium. This season was the last that ASU Baseball will play at Packard. Next season, we'll say hello to Phoenix Municipal Stadium, where the Oakland Athletics play spring training games. So long, Packard.

As we reported this week, Tempe’s loud party citations and robberies dropped precipitously last October, during Operation Safe and Sober. What did not drop, however, was the number of sexual assaults. In Tempe, sexual assaults have increased steadily from 43 in 2010 to more than 50 in 2013.

Bravo to ASU sophomore point guard Jahii Carson for reaching the 1,000-point milestone in his 55th game as a Sun Devil. Only Ike Diogu (50 games) and James Harden (52 games) reached 1,000 career points quicker than Carson.
Boo to the unfortunate options that the U.S. Olympic teams have to wear at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The uniforms, designed by Ralph Lauren, were unveiled on Jan. 23 and look like Uncle Sam threw up on an alpaca.

Last week, Rep. John Kavanagh, R-Fountain Hills, made statements that would offend anyone who cared to listen:

Boo to the explosion and fire at an animal feed plant in Omaha, Neb., on Monday morning. Two people died and 10 were seriously injured during the collapse of the building.
Bravo to Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman for actually showing emotion in his post-game interview with Erin Andrews on Fox. It has become increasingly rare for athletes to speak their minds, rather than give a PR-fed quote.
Boo-ravo to the Sundance Film Festival for a great selection this year, with films such as "Nick Offerman: American Ham," starring Nick Offerman of "Parks and Recreation" fame. However, their selection leans toward over-represented groups in the media, leaving many untold stories to languish in silence.

Arizona has an education problem. We should stand for an education system that can be utilized by everyone. We should pass every bill that expands access to an education critical to success in the 21st century. Our culture should encourage — in all places of power — the ideal of a college education.

Bravo to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for recognizing Utah's new same-sex marriages. Because he recognized the marriages, 1,138 federal benefits will be extended to these new couples.
Boo to media coverage connecting Francois Hollande's infidelity and the French first lady's hospitalization. She was admitted to a Parisian hospital Sunday morning and is undergoing tests and monitoring.

Bravo to you, ASU students, for making it through the semester! It's been a long 16 weeks, but we're so close to being done. Good luck with finals and these last few days of classes.
