Tempe Police reported the following incident Sunday:A 51-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Jan. 31 on the 1700 block of South Cutler Drive on suspicion of voyeurism and failing to register as a sex offender, according to a police report. The man was seen by a witness walking through a dark apartment complex dressed in a large blue coat, according to the report. The witness was in a dark corner of the complex smoking a cigarette outside her apartment door, police reported. The man was seen walking toward a unit where he stopped outside the living room window, police reported. The shades were closed but open to a clear view of a woman, who was asleep on her couch on the east side of the living room, according to the report. The woman was clothed but had no blanket covering her, according to the report. The witness watched the man look through the window for one minute, police reported. The man then continued walking slowly through the complex and the witness contacted Tempe police to report a peeping tom, police reported. Officers stopped the man walking northbound in the alley way east of the complex, according to the report. The man told officers he was waiting for his friend to meet him at the complex so he could purchase pain medication from him, police reported. When asked why he was looking through the apartment window, the man said he was looking through a showroom apartment window that was empty, according to the report. The man admitted he was a registered sex offender and served 11 years in prison for sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary, police reported.The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, police reported. Tempe Police reported the following incident Thursday:A 24-year-old Tucson man was arrested Jan. 31 on the 20 block of East 6th Street on suspicion of possessing dangerous drugs and narcotics, according to a police report. The man was seen sitting on a park bench with a small clear bag full of suspected drugs in his left hand, police reported. The man saw officers approaching and attempted to conceal the drugs in his left front pants pocket, according to a police report. When officers contacted the man, he said he had cocaine in his pocket, according to the report. They found two clear baggies of cocaine and Xanax, according to the report. The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released on pending charges. A 47-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 31 on the 2000 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. The man was contacted after he committed a traffic offense, according to the report. The man consented to a search of his vehicle and officers found a baggie containing methamphetamine in the center console of the vehicle, police reported. The man also said he had a pipe used for smoking meth in his backpack, according to the report. The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and released on pending charges. Tempe Police reported the following incident Wednesday: A 20-year-old Tucson man was arrested Jan. 31 on the 1600 block of East 12th Street on suspicion of trespassing, according to a police report. The man was contacted by officers in a fenced residential yard, police reported. The owner of the residence told police that the man walked into his yard and attempted to open the door of this house, according to the report. Further investigation revealed another resident living in the area had also reported someone trespassing on her property, according to the report. She told officers the man entered her residence while she was watching a movie in her living room, police reported. The woman told officers she asked the man who he was and mumbled that he was a neighbor looking for a dog, according to the police report. She said the man proceeded to walk down the hallway and then returned to the living room, toward the connected kitchen and exited out the back door and called out an unknown dog’s name, according to the report. The man then walked back into the residence through the kitchen and walked through the living room and exited out the front door, police reported. The woman told officers the man told her he would be back in five minutes, according to the report. The man told police he was a student from UA and he was in town for the golf tournament. Tempe Police reported the following incident Tuesday: A 24-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 31 at Ash Avenue and First Street on suspicion of trespassing, according to a police report. Metro Light Rail Security saw the man on surveillance video walking on the light rail bridge on 300 West Lakeview Drive, police reported. A light rail security officer started walking northbound on the bridge when he said he saw the man coming towards him, according to the report. The security officer walked with him until police arrived, police reported. The security officer said dispatch told him the man had been walking on the tracks all the way from downtown Phoenix, according to the report. The man told officers he had been drinking at a bar in Phoenix with his brother and the two got separated, police reported. The man said he knew he could find his way back home by following the light rail track, according to the report. The man said he did see the “no trespassing” signs, but he was worried he would get lost if he ventured off the tracks, police reported. He also said he knew it was not a good idea but was unaware the consequence for trespassing on the tracks is a felony arrest, according to the report. Tempe Police reported the following incident Monday: A 33-year-old Phoenix man was arrested at the McDonald’s located on the 1400 block of West Baseline Road on suspicion of shoplifting, lying to law enforcement dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report. The man was first seen concealing several items, worth $790.92, with a shopping bag inside a Home Depot, according to the report. He then exited the store without paying for any of the items, police reported. An employee contacted Tempe Police, and officers contacted the man at the McDonald’s, according to the report, according to the report. The man lied to officers about his identity and date of birth, police reported. Officers searched the man and found a bag of methamphetamine in his sweatshirt pocket and a glass-smoking pipe in his possession, police reported. Tempe Police reported the following incident Thursday:A 33-year-old Tempe man was arrested Jan. 18 on the 400 block of West University Drive on suspicion of trespassing and possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Officers received a call of a suspicious person carrying a toolbox, police reported.An officer arrived on the 400 block of West University Drive, which can be accessed through Farmer Avenue, according to the report. The officer saw the man inside a white vehicle with his upper body hunched over the steering wheel, police reported.The man exited the vehicle and told the officer he was helping a friend a friend fix it, according to the report. The man was unable to give the vehicle owner's name and told a confusing story, police reported. The man consented for police to search the vehicle, according to the report. UPDATE: The victim has died from his injuries. The suspects are both black males and have not been taken into custody yet.
