Devil Dish: Is it Saturday yet?

If you go to ASU, you already know that Saturday is a big day.

The Sun Devils will square off against UA in another episode of the Territorial Cup series.

This year’s game is one of the biggest in recent years, with the Wildcats currently ranked at No. 7 and the Sun Devils playing their best basketball since James Harden donned the maroon and gold, back when his beard was a lot shorter.

But what has me excited for the game is the potential atmosphere that will fill the Wells Fargo Arena come tip-off.

I love basketball. I love energetic student sections. I really love when you put those two together.

You’re indoors, you’re close to the action and you’re really loud. It’s the best atmosphere in all of sports.

The ASU students have a chance to create that environment on Saturday, and it's something the arena has lacked for far too long.

The game has a lot of hype around it, because both programs are playing high-quality basketball. Fans and students are looking for a reason to come out to the arena and turn it into a madhouse that the rest of the Pac-12 should hate attending. The Sun Devils are looking for a signature win to boost their tournament résumé and prove to the rest of the country that they are a legitimate team.

Saturday is that opportunity for both sides to make their wishes come true and begin a new era in ASU basketball.
