About The State Press

The State Press is ASU's award-winning, student-run news organization that has covered Arizona State University and the Tempe, Phoenix and Mesa communities since 1890.

Journalists at The State Press produce media in multiple formats, including digital news, photo and video projects and print magazines. They produce work covering a wide variety of topics, including campus news, politics, business, science, sports, opinion, narrative writing and more. Students hold editorial control over the publication's content.

Students have produced work at The State Press that have won local and national awards from groups such as the Arizona Press Club, Society of Professional Journalists, Columbia Scholastic Press Association, National Scholastic Press Association and more.

Alumni of The State Press have proceeded to work positions at the Washington Post, USA Today, The New York Times, Politico, Buzzfeed, ESPN, MLB.com, The Arizona Republic and more.
