Tempe Police: Man exits vehicle while it's moving

A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested April 21 at East Broadway Road and South Mill Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence and marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, according to a police report.

An officer saw a pickup truck driving in the wrong lane and a man trying to exit the truck while it was still in motion, police reported.

The officer contacted the man and asked him about his driving behavior, but he would not answer any questions, according to the report.

The man was paranoid, with continuous verbal and incoherent outbursts, aggressive behavior and massive amounts of sweating, according to the report.

The officer asked the man if he had taken any drugs that night, and the man replied that he had not smoked anything since April 20, police reported.

A search of the truck revealed four to five different types of marijuana in plastic baggies, approximately 20 plastic baggies, a grinder and a mason jar labeled “weed jar,” according to the report.

The man was arrested and transported to the Tempe City Jail, where he was booked and held to see a judge, the report said.
