It may be time for the so-called "Kellogg Show" to make it the "The Show."
ASU junior left-hander Ryan Kellogg was selected in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
Kellogg was part of ASU's 1-2 starting pitching duo with junior left-hander Brett Lilek, as the two often alternated between the Friday and Saturday starting pitching responsibilities.
Kellogg was one of eight Sun Devil players all-time to be named to the All-Pac-12 First Team three times, and was one of two players in school history to lead ASU in wins in three consecutive seasons.
The Whitby, Ontario, Canada, native went 9-2 with a 3.60 ERA in 2015, striking out 92 batters and walking 23 with two complete games in 115 innings across 16 starts.
One of the highlights of Kellogg's career came in his freshman year in 2013, tossing a no-hitter against then-No. 3 Oregon State. It was the ninth no-hitter in school history, and the first since Feb. 2, 1993. It was also the first no-hitter ever in Pac-10/12 play, according to Sun Devil athletics.
Kellogg was previously selected in the 12th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays out of Henry Street High School in his hometown.
Kellogg has until July 17 to sign his professional contract. If he does not sign, he may return to ASU for his senior season.
