The location of the new Cardinal's Stadium has left Maricopa County residents divided, according to a KAET telephone poll released Wednesday.

Twenty-two percent of the 291 polled said they would rather have the stadium built in the West Valley.

Twenty-one percent said a new stadium should not be built at all and the Cardinals should continue to play in Sun Devil Stadium.

The telephone poll, which was taken Nov. 15-18, also showed 12 percent of voters opted for the Tempe site near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and 9 percent said they preferred the site along Loop 101 between Tempe and Mesa.

Some of the voters, 18 percent, said they had no preference on where the stadium should go.
