Police Beat


ASU police reported no incidents Sunday.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Sunday:

• A 19-year-old Tempe man and a 20-year-old Tempe man were arrested for disorderly conduct and assault at the public parking lot at 5125 S. Mill Ave. The 19-year-old reportedly threatened a security guard, stating "I'm going to blast you," and throwing a large rock at the guard. The 20-year-old then enticed the guard into a fight. The 20-year-old was also found in possession of marijuana.

• A 36-year-old Guadalupe woman was arrested at IGA at 725 W. Baseline Road for shoplifting. She reportedly placed items in a shopping bag and exited the store without paying for them.

• A 58-year-old Gold Canyon man and a 37-year-old Mesa man were arrested for indecent exposure at Kiwanis Park, 5500 All American Way. The men were observed exposing their erect penises and manipulating them with their hands in a public bathroom.

• A 32-year-old Tempe woman was arrested for shoplifting and reporting false information to police at 725 W. Baseline Road. The woman reportedly concealed items in her pants and attempted to leave the store. She also gave police a false name and date of birth.

• A 19-year-old Tempe man was arrested for assault at Sonic Drive-In, 1122 E. Broadway Road. He allegedly punched a victim several times in the face.

• A man was arrested for second-degree murder in the 1000 block of East Spence Avenue. A police patrol unit was called at approximately 7:30 a.m. to respond to a dead body found in a vacant lot on the 1400 block of South Jentilly Lane. According to police officials, the body was that of Uriah Laskowsky, a 25-year-old male transient. Police were led to a residence on East Spence Avenue, where they arrested Ernie Ortega, 25, on a charge of murder.
