Devil Dish: Weekend bigger for sports than it appears

It was quite a weekend for ASU sports, but, much to this editor's dismay, that is not evident in today's sports pages.

The Sun Devil baseball team set the school record for best start to a season (24-1) with a three-game sweep over Penn State. We could not give our readers a photo because of lack of space.

Softball's Kara Brun, a senior shortstop, set the school-record for career home runs (28) and tied the school's RBI mark (153). Again, because of lack of space, we could only offer nine measly inches and no photo.

The Sun Devil grapplers battled into first place after the first day at the conference championships in Boise, Idaho. This story was forced into a meager brief (below).

The ASU gymnasts posted a win at the UNO's Classic on Friday and we were unable to print a photo with the story.

On behalf of the entire sports section, I offer an apology to the each of these teams and all our readers. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond editorial control, this will remain the case until our paper's pages increase as a whole.

Again, we are sorry.
