Spring Break Fashion: The more skin showing, the better

Coral and turquoise are in this season.

It's that time of year again for college co-eds to hit the gym, tanning salon and local plastic surgeon.

The temperatures are heating up and so are the hormones. From the micro-mini skirts to the barely there bikinis, the theme for this year's spring fashion is "skin to win."

Catherine Fernandez, an ASU junior and a sales representative for Nordstrom's in Scottsdale described this spring's swimsuit line.

"Skimpy bathing suits in coral and turquoise are definitely in," she said. "More and more women are coming in and opting for the triangle top suits because they compliment their new breast enhancements more than a padded top."

The surfer look is still in for males. Floral print board shorts and visors are popular this year for men.

"Anything in the Aloha print sells really well," Fernandez said.

After spring breakers have soaked up all the sun and alcohol they can in a day, it's time to get ready for some nighttime fun.

What to wear can be a difficult task when the brain is soaked in liquor, but Nicole Jones and Gina Singh, owners of Urban Angels in Tempe, offered some help.

Anything pink for girls this season is hot whether its pink polka dots or pink terry suits, Jones said.

Whether you're in support of the army or not, you can at least be prepared because the army look is back.

"The army theme is really big again," Jones said.

Camouflage and army green's line the rack at Urban Angels.

"Buckles on everything too, shirts, pants and shoes," Singh added.

The vintage look is in for both men and women.

People love "anything vintage," Jones said.

Wherever the number one spring break destination is this year, skin will definitely be the accessory spring breaker's wear (or don't wear) the most. Just be careful--it can either get you in jail or out of jail, depending on the caliber of work your plastic surgeon did.
