The "2003 College Game Life Tour" will set up 50 screens on Palo Verde Beach today to give video gamers a chance to preview some new games.
The tour was organized by Game Live Events, a producer of live video game touring events.
The 13-stop college tour features products from big-name game publishers, including Electronic Arts, Rockstar Games, Ubi Soft Entertainment, THQ and Midway.
The tour also will be the first time video games and PC games will be part of an event on major college campuses throughout the country, said Antonio Capretta, chief executive officer of Game Live Events.
"'The Game Life Tour' is a great opportunity to generate trial and awareness of our latest titles to our target consumers in a fun, interactive environment," said Alison Ross of Electronic Arts.
More than 50 screens will feature the top games from many of the game publishers, and there will be giveaways like new games, demo discs and T-shirts.
"We are all about getting the games to the students," Capretta said.
The "2003 College Game Life Tour" starts at 10 a.m. on Palo Verde Beach. Admission is free, and game play is unlimited.
