Devil Dish: Saying goodbye to an amazing semester

With the final Devil Dish, I would like to get some things off my chest.

While the semester's sports are not yet complete, it has been a tremendous five months for the ASU sports scene.

Following up the surprisingly successful football campaign in the fall, the ASU men's basketball, baseball, gymnastics, wrestling and men's and women's tennis teams have all been nationally heralded.

The men's hoops squad reached the Big Dance for the first time since 1995; the baseball team was ranked No. 1 at one point, while the gymnastics team reached No. 2 for a time; wrestling finished fifth at the NCAA championships and the two tennis teams have been ranked all season.

While these teams have been successful on the playing "field," there have were also a handful of freshman to step forward and show fans what they can expects to see for three more seasons.

Ike Diogu, Jill Noe, Desiree Serrano, Joona Puhakka and Ashley Kelly should be filling both their own and the school's trophy cases for years to come.

I only wish I could be here to see it. Good-bye.
