Devil Dish: Only a Cardinals win can stop beard growth

While some might keep their shirts and hats in the closet or just not buy tickets, I have taken up a different form of silent protest against the 1-5 Arizona Cardinals and owner Bill Bidwill.

Ever since their last win, a miraculous victory on Sept. 21 over the Green Bay Packers, I have not shaved my goatee and will continue to let it go until the Cardinals' next win. You see, facial hair isn't exactly my thing, as my current growth looks like a combination of a 1980s porn star and an eighth-grader getting ready to go to his first junior high dance.

The Big Red will have another chance for me to take the Mach 3 out of its semi-retirement on Sunday when they play the San Francisco 49ers. My friends and family just hope they can pull off a win in the next 10 weeks, or it's going to be a long summer.
