For the final Hump Day Hoopla of the semester, members of The State Press sports staff are taking a final opportunity to speak what's on their minds.

I've made an attempt to get interested in hockey this season, but I just can't do it. I still can never find the puck, and it's not worth the effort to try and pronounce names like Branko Radivojevic. And while the fighting can be entertaining, it's nothing compared to HHH vs. Goldberg. Anyway, before I forget, I want to thank each of people below for his hard work this semester. By the way, those guys are four of the most eligible bachelors at ASU ... or not.

As my birthday nears on Monday, the perfect gift for the big 2-0 is almost within my grasp. Currently residing in second place in The State Press fantasy football team, "Zow About That" is just one game out of the top spot, riding a five-game winning streak and geared up for a playoff run. After a disappointing finish in fantasy baseball, my Jon Kitna-led squad is destined to win. If I don't win, however, I will gladly accept gifts of condolences.

At the beginning of the year, I thought I might soon be writing previews for a Rose Bowl. Now, I'm trying to figure out what went wrong with the ASU football team. The first few road trips of the season were fun, but taking six weekend road trips got to be draining. But not everything goes as planned, and the semester was a great experience. And I can't wait to see what Jason Shivers and Andrew Walter do in their seasons. Best of luck to Regis Crawford and Brian Montesanto.

In my first semester here at The State Press, I've learned a lot of things - of which one is the intricate craft of writing. However, I feel it is a skill that, though quite useful, is something I still struggle with. In fact, I'm not sure I'll ever master it. One thing I do know is that the largest lesson I learned is that as easy as slicing meat at a deli sounds, it is a task too difficult for me to handle.

To our overworked and underpaid sports editor, Andrew Bernick, as well as those of you graduating: Congratulations on entering the real world ... and oh yeah - the Dodgers are hopeless. Some final items I have to get off my chest are as follows: ASU football needs to 86 those brutal uniforms and find one running back; Nebraska was out of its mind for firing its football coach; the Diamondbacks will give the NL West a good run next summer; and finally, watch out for pigeons.
