Police Beat: A walking crackhouse


Tempe police reported the following incidents Thursday:

A 39-year-old Glendale man was arrested on charges of forgery and theft of services at the Country Inn and Suites in the 1600 block of West Elliot Road. He reportedly forged a check for $320 and had no other money to pay for the room.

A 43-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on a charge of possession of a dangerous drug after a search revealed a usable amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A 23-year-old Tempe man was arrested on a charge of shoplifting near the 2300 block of West Baseline Road.

A 48-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after a search revealed that he and his passenger had a crack pipe, a spoon, three used syringes and one new syringe.
