Police Beat: Letting it flow at traffic court


Tempe police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

A 30-year-old transient woman was arrested on charges of armed robbery and third-degree burglary by Phoenix police and later handed over to Tempe police. At a Texaco near the 800 block of South Priest Drive, she allegedly told the clerk she had a gun as she went behind the counter, removing six cartons of cigarettes.

A 34-year-old Mesa man was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools near the 2000 block of East Broadway Road after police allegedly found a syringe, which he admitted to using for crystal methamphetamine injections. He also was found in possession of bolt cutters, wire cutters, gloves, pliers, a metal saw and a lock that had been cut.

A 21-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on charges of assault and domestic violence near the 1900 block of East Apache Boulevard. She allegedly bit her husband on his right forearm and hit him on the upper lip with a closed fist causing swelling.

A 35-year-old Guadalupe man was arrested on a charge of urinating in public near the 100 block of East Fifth Street. Police allegedly saw him urinating behind a mailbox outside the traffic court.

ASU police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

An unknown suspect, or suspects, damaged the windows of offices by the softball field near 451 S. Rural Road. Estimated damage is $200.

A vehicle was burglarized in Parking Structure 5. A parking pass and compact disc case were stolen. Estimated loss is $180.

An unknown suspect, or suspects, drove through a gate and onto a practice field near 451 S. Rural Road, causing damage to fences and the field. An exterior mirror and pieces of the headlight and turn signals lenses were found at the scene.
