With the Arizona Rattlers coming up just short in the ArenaBowl on Sunday, it seems like the end of an era for some of the most successful athletes in the Valley. With new ownership set to take hold of the team, head coach Danny White is most likely done coaching, and team staples Hunkie Cooper and Sherdrick Bonner could be gone as well.
Although they are getting older and their best playing days are probably behind them, it will be sad to see players such as Cooper and Bonner go. It isn’t too often that star players stay with the same team for so long, no matter what sport it is. These guys have been class acts from the beginning and have helped turn the Rattlers into one of the premier teams in the AFL.
With the Cardinals in a terminal state of disarray, the Rattlers have, for many, been the most exciting football team to watch in Arizona. But without White coaching from the sidelines and Bonner and Cooper leading on the field, the Rattlers just won’t be the same.
