A second presidential logo was revealed Monday as part of ASU and Tempe's preparation for the 2004 presidential debate.

While the primary 2004 debate logo -- a seal with an American flag in the center and a picture of Gammage Auditorium -- has been on the front page of the ASU Web site the past month, the second logo will serve as an identification logo.

ASU spokeswoman Nancy Neff said the second logo would be used to identify events that will be held on and off campus relating to the presidential debate.

Neff said several departments are planning events leading up to the debate on Oct. 13.

The political science department, for example, will sponsor a student conference and other activities.

"The logo will be a good way to identify these events as relating to ASU and are complimentary events to the 2004 presidential debate," Neff said.

Neff said graphic designer Helen Palmaira, who works at the provost's office, created the logo.
