Smith letter examined
During the 2000 presidential campaign, then-governor George W. Bush portrayed himself as a uniter, not a divider.
Josh Smith's letter to the editor helps illustrate this point with bands of terrorists uniting with Iraqi insurgents since the infamous "Mission Accomplished" show the president put on for us.
Unfortunately, the president suffers from amnesia when it comes to the true war on terrorism. Saddam Hussein didn't attack America on Sept. 11, 2001 -- it was Osama Bin Laden. Give these sick bastards an opportune chance to kill more Americans, they will take it.
Unfortunately it's the president's arrogance that has united the radical Muslim terrorists together in an effort to kill more U.S. soldiers.
If Josh truly thinks the Bush plan that has cost our nation the lives of 1,000+ men and women is worthy of his vote, then God help us.

ASU needs to crack the books
If only private money is being used to fund the upcoming presidential debates, then ASU will be able to provide [records] of how the costs of renting buildings, providing security and police, utilities, janitorial services, etc. are covered 100 percent under that private arrangement.
Can I be assured that under private funding, no ASU employee will be present who is being paid by state or federal funds, and certainly not being paid overtime on state or federal funds while working at a "private" non-university event?
ASU -- you have made the statement:
[In Tuesday's issue of The State Press] "ASU spokeswoman Nancy Neff said no public funds are being used to put on the debate. 'Only private donations and in-kind contributions are being used,' Neff said."
If you are not 100 percent correct, then you deserve to be held accountable. Let's see where the lawsuit goes. Make your accounting books open to the public for inspection.

Bush not green friendly
It's painfully obvious to me that Bush is the candidate for those that are not as concerned with environmental issues and preserving what natural wildlife and resources that we do have left ... One of his main interests is improving the U.S. economy, but for whom?
Businesses and corporations obviously, because he's letting them ship American jobs overseas, thus expanding the already-existent disparity between the upper and lower classes in America.
Love him or hate him, John Kerry is our only alternative to the tyranny that is upon us currently. Although he may not be perfect, at least he supports labor unions and alternative fuel methods to be better able to preserve wildlife.
Alternative fuel could also be the kicker that finally gets us out of Iraq, which I consider a badly disguised fight for world dominance and oil on the U.S.'s part. Not to say that the lives lost there mean nothing, but we need to get out before it gets worse.
If anyone cares about our environment, U.S. relations with most of the rest of the world and keeping American jobs in America, they should probably vote for Kerry.
I am so sick and tired of overhearing these kids talking about how mommy or daddy votes. Think about the issues, and vote for who is a more relevant choice for you and your life. I know that for me -- someone who has never come from a lot of money -- I wouldn't be missing out on too much if the taxes were raised a little.
