ASU police reported the following incidents Friday:
An 18-year-old ASU student was arrested Thursday for underage alcohol possession near the intersection of Rural Road and Lemon Street. Police say the woman was seen walking north with two cases of beer. The suspect allegedly hid behind an abandoned restaurant at the corner when she saw police. When asked why she hid, the suspect allegedly told officers she was waiting for some friends.
A Coca Cola vending machine was burglarized at the Towers Apartment complex Wednesday. Police say there was a small hole drilled in the machine above the top window section. Police estimated the loss at $200.
Tempe police reported the following incidents Friday:
Two 22-year-old Tempe men were arrested Friday outside of The Library Bar and Grill located at 501 S. Mill Ave. The two were charged with disorderly conduct after the men allegedly were involved in a mutual fight, according to police. The two men had been ejected from the bar earlier for causing a disturbance.
A 26-year-old transient and a 39-year-old transient were arrested Thursday near the 1000 block of South McClintock Drive. The two men were charged with consuming alcohol in public after police said they were seen drinking 40 ounce bottles of beer behind a 7-Eleven convenience store.
An 81-year-old Tempe woman was sexually assaulted at her apartment near the 4500 block of South Rural Road Sunday morning. Police say the woman's 83-year-old husband heard his wife's cries and came to her aid with the use of a walker. Officers are searching for the suspect who then allegedly beat the husband causing serious head injuries before returning to assaulting his wife. The only description of the suspect released at this time is that he was tall. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tempe police at 480-350-8311.
