Police Beat: Beer run gone wrong

Tempe police reported the following incidents Thursday:

A 20-year-old Tempe man was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault and shoplifting at the QuikTrip at 3875 S. Priest Drive. Police say the suspect was confronted by a Budweiser sales representative when he attempted to leave the store with a case of Bud Light. The suspect allegedly turned to the sales person and taunted him with a knife. The suspect then allegedly fled the scene and was arrested shortly thereafter. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police allegedly found a usable quantity of the drug and several rolling papers on him.

A 28-year-old Whitehead, Ariz., man was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated domestic violence assault near the 1200 block of South Terrace Road. The suspect reportedly had a verbal argument with his girlfriend about his state of intoxication. Police say the suspect then threw his girlfriend to the ground and repeatedly kicked her. The victim sustained a broken nose and possible broken bones in her face and right hand.
