ASU police reported the following incidents Wednesday:
A 22-year-old male ASU student was arrested Tuesday night at his residence on the 1600 block of East University Drive in connection with an outstanding Tempe warrant for alleged failure to pay fines. While he was being transported to the ASU police station, the suspect reportedly told police he had enough money to be released on bond in his bank account, but no one could get the money out for him. The officer reportedly drove the suspect to an ATM near the intersection of Broadway Road and Mill Avenue, pointed to a credit card in the man's wallet and asked if the suspect wanted the officer to insert that card into the machine. The suspect allegedly "raised his voice and said, 'Does that look like a Wells Fargo card?'" After the officer said he was providing the opportunity to post bond and avoid going to jail as a courtesy, the man reportedly "rolled his eyes in a sarcastic manner." The man was booked into a county jail.
A female ASU student and a Colorado woman, both 18, were arrested on the 800 block of East Apache Boulevard early Tuesday morning and charged with being minors with alcohol in their bodies. Police reportedly saw the women on McAllister Avenue "stumbling and holding onto each other." The women reportedly told police they were on their way from Mariposa Hall to Taco Bell and allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the evening. The student reportedly had a blood-alcohol concentration of .196, and the Colorado woman reportedly had a BAC of .142 when given breath tests.
