Terrell Owens' nickname, "T.O.," could now stand for something a little different.
How about "thrown out," as in thrown out of the Philadelphia Eagles' locker room, suspended for four games and promised by the team that he won't take another snap, catch another pass or celebrate a touchdown in an Eagles' jersey ever again.
Personally, I applaud the Eagles' organization.
It takes guts to do the right thing in this situation, and in an era where bad attitudes reign supreme in professional sports, it's a breath of fresh air to see a team take a stand and do away with a problem player like Owens, rather than cater to his every need.
Will the Eagles suffer on the field without Owens? Probably. It's impossible to replace the loss of a big-play receiver of Owens' quality and caliber.
But will the team be better off after showing T.O. the door? Most definitely.
T.O. has run his mouth time and time again, and it's no wonder the Eagles have finally become fed up with it.
You can't sit there and call the organization that signs your checks "classless" and go on to rip your starting quarterback -- once again -- and not expect a punishment.
I'm just glad the Eagles finally "turned off" Terrell Owens and his big mouth.
