Headlines: Curfews not in ASU's future

Despite the wishes of ASU's largest donors, on-campus freshmen won't be subject to a curfew, University officials said Monday.

Valley homebuilder Ira Fulton and his wife Mary Lou told the East Valley Tribune they're interested in having a curfew for residents of the McAllister Academic Village, set to open this fall.

The couple has donated more than $160 million to ASU, according to the Tribune article.

But they haven't yet asked the University to set any curfews, said ASU spokeswoman Leah Hardesty.

The idea of a curfew is "not something we're going to consider," Hardesty added.
