Devil Dish: Isiah should stop

Can someone tell Isiah Thomas to just stop? The latest rumor involving the New York Knicks has Thomas trading for Orlando Magic guard Steve Francis.

Thomas' thought is that Francis can pair with Stephon Marbury in the New York backcourt and the duo can become the modern day Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars.

Sorry Isiah, but watching two me-first guards on the floor won't exactly conjure up images of the "Bad Boys."

With Francis and Marbury on the floor, there would never be enough basketball to go around.

What the Knicks need to do is dump as much salary as possible and start over around Eddy Curry and Channing Frye. Neither of them can be considered cornerstones right now, but they won't get a chance to show their potential if they don't get the ball.

Marbury is clearly not the point guard Larry Brown wants, so trading him for a defensive-oriented, pass-first player would make things run much smoother.

Marbury's trade value is still high, and getting a solid point guard along with a first round draft pick would at least put them on the right track. New York has plenty of talent on paper, but what Thomas has to realize is that no matter how good the Knicks do in his fantasy basketball league, they still aren't producing on the floor.
