ASU junior outfielder Colin Curtis was among five Sun Devils selected during the first 18 rounds on Day 1 of the annual June Amateur Major League Baseball Draft.
Curtis, who started every game this season while receiving All-Pac-10 honors, became the 134th overall selection by the New York Yankees and was the highest Sun Devil selected in the 2006 draft.
Curtis tied the Pac-10 in stolen bases with a career-high 21 and finished the regular season with 51 RBIs while batting .339 for the Sun Devils.
Sun Devil RHP Pat Bresnehan was selected in the 5th round (140th overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates and RHP Zechry Zinicola was selected in the 6th round (181st overall) by the Washington Nationals.
ASU reliever Brett Bordes, who was named ASU's Most Valuable Player, was selected in the 9th round (265th overall) by the Baltimore Orioles. Bordes received his second consecutive honorable mention for the All-Pac-10 honors and recently became the school's all-time leader in pitching appearances.
