Devil Dish

While watching the Super Bowl, one thing suddenly dawned on me - no NFL team is "my" team.

Trust me, I spend every Sunday watching football like the rest of America, but unlike the rest of the major pro and college sports, I'm not a diehard fan of any NFL team.

I spend more time following ex-Sun Devils (Plummer, Walter, Heap, Suggs, etc.) and becoming a superficial fan of their teams than I do living and breathing a specific team like I do with all the other sports.

I blame this on the Cardinals. Not just for churning out losing season after losing season, but for never caring enough to have that NFL atmosphere.

I know that Sundays in certain cities are so special just because of football, and I wish I could say that I've experienced that before, but I haven't.

Come on Cardinals, for once I would like to know what "real" NFL football is truly about and to be able to call the hometown team "my" team.
