Tech Check: Is that a sing-along in your pants or are you just happy to see me?

Admit it, you've had moments when you show up at a party and suddenly wish you could pull a karaoke machine out of your back pocket.

Well, for those of you that own a Video iPod or any sort of MP3 player, turning a friendly get-together into a full out sing-along is now easier with the doPi Karaoke System.

The doPi system comes with a microphone, converter and cables to turn your video music player into a small karaoke machine or plugs into your television for non-video MP3 players. The doPi purchase comes with three free downloads for songs to use, but every additional song costs 99 cents to download off the company's Web site.

Once you buy the doPi, you download the songs to your computer and then transfer them to the program used for your music player, like iTunes if you're using an iPod.

After you've updated your music player with the songs, you can plug the doPi into your TV. If you have a video music player, you can choose to have lyrics run across your screen and just plug it into a stereo instead.

The selection of songs on the doPi Web site is still small, based mostly on karaoke cliches like "Wild Thing" and "Material Girl," but you can fill out a request for a new song.

For more information or to buy the doPi Karaoke System for $60, go to dopikaraoke.com.
