Devil Dish

Monday was not exactly a pretty end for the ASU women's basketball team.

But the ugly loss should not take away from the fact that the team went deeper in the NCAA tournament than any ASU team in history.

The Sun Devils never quit and came back from double-digit deficits in their first two games. They gave their fans a heart attack en route to the Sweet Sixteen and then the Elite Eight.

Rutgers was just too much to handle Monday, but making it to the Elite Eight is something to get excited about - not hang one's head over.

What's even more exciting is there are a number of talented players coming back next season and newcomers coming in that could make an immediate impact.

Coach Charli Turner Thorne has built a program that will continue to reload and compete at the highest level for years to come.

The Sun Devils may not have made the Final Four this year, but a Final Four appearance could come in the near future.
