Devil Dish

My heart broke for Ryan Torain Wednesday night when I learned he has to have surgery on his foot and was out for the season.

I know injuries are part of the game, but you hate to see someone's season end halfway through the year.

I also know the Sun Devils will be fine on offense and I have full confidence that Keegan Herring and Dimitri Nance will thrive as a two-headed monster for the rest of the season.

They both proved that when they ripped through the Washington defense last week while Torain watched on crutches from the sideline.

But it should have been a three-headed monster for the remaining five games.

Thanks, Ryan, for basically coming out of nowhere last season and for pounding through defenses for a year and a half.

Thanks for being a workhorse and for being our first 1,000-yard rusher since 2001.

Good luck and have a speedy recovery.

You'll play on Sundays.
