Tempe police reported the followings incidents Sunday:
- A 37-year-old transient woman was arrested Friday morning on the 100 block of East Fifth Street on charges of felony forgery.
An investigation revealed that the woman cashed a forged check originally written to her for $117, according to the police report. The woman altered the check to be $917 while at the Chase Bank at 1744 E. Southern Ave., the report stated. She reportedly told police she assumed the bank had made a mistake and accidentally gave her more money.
The woman was booked and is being held at Tempe City Jail to see a judge.
- A 26-year-old Tempe man was arrested Friday night on the 6000 block of South McClintock Drive on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The man was pulled over in his vehicle and an investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of a baggie containing marijuana and paraphernalia containing marijuana residue, according to the police report.
The man was arrested and transported to Tempe City Jail where he was processed and released.
- A 30-year-old Tempe man was arrested Friday afternoon on the 600 block of West Baseline Road on charges of forgery.
An investigation revealed the man used a social security number that was not his to gain employment at a Carl's Jr, restaurant, according to the police report. After being confronted by officers, the man admitted that he purchased the social security card for $60, the report stated.
Copies of his W-4 and A-4 tax forms were obtained and reportedly found the social security number and signatures on them belonged to the man.
He later admitted to signing the tax forms, according to the report.
