Tempe police reported the following incidents Monday:
- A 42-year-old Apache Junction, Ariz., man was arrested Friday night on charges of shoplifting, possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, and providing false information to law enforcement, according to the police report.
The man was arrested after he was caught shoplifting a computer from the Wal-Mart located at 1350 W. Elliot Road, police reported.
A search revealed he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and a usable amount of methamphetamine that he stated he was holding for a friend, police reported.
He also provided a false name to law enforcement, according to the police report.
He was transported to Tempe City Jail for booking, police reported.
A 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday night on the 100 block of West Balboa Drive on charges of two counts of trespassing in a residential yard, according to the police report.
He was arrested after he reportedly jumped a wall of the residence without the owner's permission, police reported.
Before being arrested, he went into the residence and walked through the front door to a bedroom where he laid on the floor while a 9-year-old and 8-year-old were sleeping, police reported.
He was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked, according to the police report.
- A 38-year-old Mesa man was arrested Saturday morning on charges of two counts of aggravated DUI after he was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road, according to the police report.
After being stopped, he reportedly fled on foot and was apprehended after a short pursuit, the report stated.
Signs and symptoms of impairment and consumption of intoxicants were noted and a warrant was obtained for a blood draw after he refused a breathalyzer, police reported.
The man reportedly does not have an Arizona license, and his Minnesota license was revoked for multiple DUIs.
He was transported to Tempe City Jail for booking, according to the police report.
- A 27-year-old Tempe man was arrested Friday morning on the 4100 block of South Mill Avenue on charges of aggravated assault with a knife/domestic violence, criminal damage/domestic violence and threatening/intimidating, according to the police report.
He reportedly held a knife to his girlfriend's throat and stated he was going to kill her, the report stated.
After the woman escaped and went into the bathroom, he stabbed through the door two times and broke the door open, police reported.
He fled the scene prior to police arrival, and returned before police departure where he was then transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked, police reported.
A records check revealed outstanding warrants for two counts of fighting and one DUI, police reported.
