Police Beat: Man posted embarassing pictures on ex-girlfriend's Myspace


Tempe Police reported the following incidents Thursday:

  • A 25-year-old Tempe man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of use of a telephone to threaten and harass and suspicion of computer tampering, according to police reports.

    He admitted to changing the password of his ex-girlfriend's Myspace.com account and posting embarrassing pictures of her on the Web site, police reported.

    The man also sent text and picture messages to his ex-girlfriend, threatening to send the pictures to her uncle, according to police reports.

    He was booked in Tempe City Jail and released pending the charges, police reported.

  • A 44-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on the 3200 block of South Mill Avenue Tuesday on suspicion of forgery, according to police reports.

    Police reported the woman presented, signed and attempted to cash a forged check at a grocery store and a bank.

    She admitted that the check was not hers, according to police reports.

    An investigation revealed that the woman also had numerous warrants issued by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, police reported.

    The warrants included four counts of failure to appear for giving false statements, four counts of failure to appear for forgery, four counts of failure to appear for taking the identification of another person, two counts of failure to appear for fraudulent schemes, one count of failure to appear for trafficking stolen property and one count of failure to appear for assisting a criminal syndicate, police reported.

    She was booked in Tempe City Jail and is being held on a $300,000 bond, according to police reports.

  • A 37-year-old Tempe man was arrested on the 1300 block of South Rural Road on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    Police approached the man for sleeping in a fast-food restaurant, according to the police report.

    Police reported finding methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia when they searched the man.

    The man was booked and released, according to the police report.

  • A 29-year-old Tempe man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to police reports.

    The man was pulled over for civil traffic violations at the intersection of Parkway Boulevard and Roosevelt Street, according to police reports.

    A police investigation revealed he had an outstanding misdemeanor criminal damage warrant in Goodyear and one felony possession of narcotics warrant in Mesa, police reported.

    Upon search of the man's vehicle, police reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

    The man was booked in Tempe City Jail and held on $2,700 bond for the warrants, according to police reports.

  • A 31-year-old Chandler man was arrested Wednesday on the 500 block of West 21st Street on suspicion of theft.

    Police reported the man returned to a store from which he had recently been fired, broke in through the back door and stole $2,800 worth of merchandise, including one laptop, a laptop bag and three cell phones.

    The man was booked in Tempe City Jail and held to see a judge, according to police reports.
