It doesn't take a movie fanatic to appreciate the awesomeness that is the custom home theater system.
But for those that demand above-average awesomeness, there's the possibility of customizing your home theater to fit the theme of your favorite movie.
Whether you want to watch the "Batman" series in a bat cave or the "Star Wars" series in the Death Star, some elite home theater companies have you covered.
Personal conceptualized home theater systems are popping up among those that love movies and have way too much money.
Doug Chiang, who worked as a design director on "Star Wars Episode I" and "Star Wars Episode II," recently designed a personal home theater system based on the famous spacecraft from the film series, the Death Star.
Then home theater company Dillon Works made the design into a reality, complete with 10 custom seats, automatic doors, moving star fields and even a THX sound system, according to DillonWorks.com.
"I think it's kind of ridiculous," undeclared freshman Catheryne Young says. "It's ostentatious to the point of being vulgar. But then again, would you turn someone down if they invited you into their Death Star?"
Other home theater concepts include designs from "The Terminator," "Star Trek" and even "Titanic," giving the classic entertainment system a whole new meaning.
Of course, movie-themed home theaters aren't the only option — art deco and opera house designs have been seen in mansions and basements alike across the country, according to ModernHomeTheater.com. The Web site features hundreds of jaw-dropping photographs of custom home theaters around the country.
These high-class theaters are for the truest of movie dorks only and can cost upward of $6 million, according to Geekologie.com.
Start saving and you too can geek out in style with a custom-built home theater system — free of annoying audiences and full of awesome.
