JuCo All-American guard signs to be a Sun Devil

The ASU women's basketball team added another player to its incoming recruiting class Monday when coach Charli Turner Thorne announced that junior college All-American guard Jazlyn Davis signed a letter of intent to play her final two years of college as a Sun Devil.

Davis spent the last two seasons at Mount San Antonio College in California, where she was named the State and South Coast Conference Player of the Year in 2008 after averaging 20.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and three steals per game. She also helped lead the Mounties to state titles in 2007 and 2008.

"Jazlyn Davis is a dynamic player who will be an outstanding addition to our program," Turner Thorne said in a release. "Besides being a proven scorer and great decision-maker, Jazlyn will bring great perimeter defense."

Davis originally signed with USC out of high school before playing her first two college seasons at Mt. SAC.

Davis will join a guard rotation that returns Briann January and Dymond Simon and will be expected to help fill the void left by graduating seniors Jill Noe and Reagan Pariseau.
