Former Sun Devil and MLB all-time home run leader, Barry Bonds, could seek up to $100 million from Major League Baseball.

Bonds’ gripe with the league is the owners colluded to keep him from playing this season, effectively ending his career.

It’s hard to imagine how arguably the greatest player of all time would be forced out of the league after a year in which he hit 28 home runs in just 340 at-bats with an on-base percentage of .480.

Sure, Bonds has not been the classiest guy throughout his career; but this is unfair.

Bonds’ agent, Jeff Borris, shopped the slugger around at the league minimum of $390,000 and still failed to draw a buyer.

In response to the suit, MLB executive vice president Rob Manfred said the league has investigated the matter and found no evidence of wrongdoing.

OK, Rob.

Bonds, who turned 44 in July, has definitely lost a step in the outfield, but that sweet swing is most certainly still there.

Hate him or love him, just let him play.
