Remember a time when somebody had done something wrong, and the teacher gave everyone in the class a chance at redemption, so long as they came clean right away?

I think I just figured out this whole steroid thing.

No more asterisks, government investigations or public outcry.

Gentlemen of the MLB: It’s time for redemption.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Wouldn’t that be unfair to all those who didn’t cheat and didn’t inject some acronym into their rear end?

The damage is already done, I would rebut. The cheaters cheated and the game bled. Nevermind the record books; we can sort that out later.

But baseball must move past steroids.

Let everyone from the Mitchell report to the Game of Shadows investigation bite the bullet and apologize. We’ll hold them accountable and give each a well-deserved spanking.

If a player doesn’t confess and gets caught later, then you can throw him to the wolves.

This way baseball won’t be on pins and needles for the next “shocking” revelation. It’s time, finally, to move forward.
