ASU police reported the following incident Wednesday:

  • Between 10 p.m. Sunday and 4:30 p.m. Monday an unknown person or persons criminally damaged and burglarized the vehicle of a 19-year-old female ASU student, police reported.

    The vehicle was parked in the Rural Road parking structure on the Tempe campus, according to the police report.

    The driver’s side front window was smashed, and several items, including an iPod and a digital camera, were stolen from inside the car, police reported.

    The total estimated loss of the items and damage to the vehicle is $550, according to the police report.

    There are no leads, suspects or witnesses at this time.

Tempe police reported the following incidents Wednesday:

  • A 19-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The man was arrested near North Mill Avenue and West Operations Drive in Tempe after a police officer smelled marijuana coming from his vehicle while it was parked in a dirt lot, according to a police report.

    The officer began to approach the vehicle when the man got out of the front seat of the car, leaving the door open, and got into the back seat of the vehicle, police reported. The officer could see a glasses case filled with marijuana on the floor of the front seat of the car, police reported.

    During a vehicle search, the officer found a ceramic pipe with marijuana residue, according to the police report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge.

  • A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of unlawful fighting, endangerment and criminal damage, police reported.

    The man was involved in a verbal dispute with his mother at her resident on the 2700 block of South Forest Avenue, according to a police report.

    The man destroyed several items inside the home and threatened his mother, according to the report. Several people, including a neighbor, witnessed the incident and called 911, police reported.

    Police confronted the man as he exited the home. He refused to listen to verbal warnings from the police, according to the report.

    The man then ran toward an unmarked vehicle with his girlfriend and 7-month-old son and fled from police, police reported.

    Police chased the man for several miles as he ignored speeding laws and made several other traffic violations. The man drove faster than 80 mph on a surface street, according to the police report.

    When police were able to catch up with the man, he was arrested on the previous charges, and several outstanding warrants from Scottsdale including DUI and aggravated assault, police reported.

    The man was also arrested on suspicion of charges of theft and being in possession of dangerous drugs after a search upon arrest revealed several items, according to a police report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, police reported.
