If you need further proof that there is no hope for civilization, it comes in the form of Texas police officer Robert Powell.
Powell attempted to pull over Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats on March 18 for running a red light.
Unbeknownst to the officer, Moats and his wife were racing to the hospital after Moats’ wife, Tamishia, was informed that her mother would not live through the night.
Upon arrival at the hospital, Powell drew his gun and told the two not to move.
Without regard for her own safety, Tamishia ran in the hospital to be by her mother’s side in her last moments.
When confronted by Powell, Ryan Moats explained the reason for his traffic violation.
It was at this moment that officer Powell found it within his blackened soul to issue a lecture to Moats about his possibility for arrest.
Moats never had a chance to say his goodbye to his mother-in-law.
