Tempe police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 24-year-old Mesa man was arrested Friday on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

    The man was arrested at 2433 E. University Drive outside of Stray Cat Bar and Grill, according to a police report.

    Investigation revealed that the man hit a woman in the head with a beer glass, breaking the glass on her head and causing a 2-inch cut on her forehead, police reported.

    Several witnesses saw the incident and called police, according to the report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 32-year-old Laveen man was arrested Friday on suspicion of aggravated DUI and possessing dangerous drugs, police reported.

    The man was arrested on the 1600 block of East Baseline Road after his vehicle hit a curb, causing the left front tire to explode, police reported.

    A witness saw the man crawl out of the driver’s seat of the vehicle, according to a police report.

    Police believe the man had been drinking, and he was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

    A search of the man’s vehicle after his arrest revealed pills only available by prescription that were not prescribed to him, according to the report.

  • A 34-year-old Tempe man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The man was arrested on the 1400 block of South Stapley Place, according to a police report.

    Investigation revealed that the man had repeatedly disturbed his neighbor with loud music, yelling and occasionally tried to aggressively lure her into his apartment, police reported.

    A search of the man’s apartment revealed a usable quantity of marijuana and a black pipe with marijuana residue, according to the report.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge, police reported.

  • A 47-year-old Scottsdale woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting and possession of dangerous drugs and narcotic drugs, police reported.

    The woman was arrested on the 1700 block of North Granite Reef Road in Scottsdale after investigation revealed she had attempted to steal from Safeway at 926 E. Broadway Road in Tempe earlier in the afternoon, according to a police report.

    The woman reportedly filled her car with groceries and then left the store without paying. When she was stopped by an employee in the parking lot, she drove away, leaving the groceries and her purse in the cart, police reported.

    The woman’s purse contained methamphetamines and crack-cocaine, the report said.

    The woman admitted to shoplifting from Safeway. She was transported to Tempe City Jail, booked and held to see a judge on all charges, police reported.
