Tempe Police reported the following incidents Sunday:

  • A 22-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Friday morning on the 900 block of East Apache Boulevard on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

    The man was arrested after he pulled out marijuana and a pipe from his left front pocket during a minor-in-consumption-of-alcohol investigation, according to a police report.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending charges, police reported.

  • A 21-year-old Tempe man was arrested early Thursday morning on the 1800 block of East Southern Avenue on suspicion of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, police reported.

    The man was being placed under arrest for a Department of Public Safety warrant when he became involved in a physical altercation with the officer, according to the police report.

    During the altercation, both the officer and suspect landed on the pavement, police reported.

    The man was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of aggravated assault, police reported.

  • A 27-year-old transient man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on the 3300 block of East Pecos Road on suspicion of forgery, possession of a forged instrument and false reporting to law enforcement, police reported.

    He was arrested after he opened a checking and savings account at the Arizona Central Credit Union using a false name and social security number, according to a police report.

    He also used a false Arizona driver’s license issued on Aug. 26 and lied to police about his personal information, police reported.

    He also had a warrant issued by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for other fraud schemes in Tempe, police reported.

    He was transported to Tempe City Jail on one count of forgery, one count of possession of a forged instrument and one count of false reporting to law enforcement, police reported.
